Privacy policy

Last updated: 8 November 2026

This policy explains what personal data Japanesely collects, why, and what you can do about it. Japanesely is operated by an individual based in India. Contact: support@myjapanesely.com.

Launch waitlist

If you join the waitlist on this site, we store your email address, the starting level you choose (optional) and the time you signed up. We use them only to email you when Japanesely launches and to understand which levels people want first. We do not add you to any other mailing list or share your address. Waitlist entries are stored by Netlify, our website host. Email support@myjapanesely.com to have your entry deleted at any time; we delete the waitlist once the launch email has been sent.

What we collect

Optional speaking recordings stay on your device unless a feature clearly tells you otherwise.

Why we use it

To provide your account and lessons, schedule your reviews, give you Plus access when you pay, answer support requests, keep the service secure and fix problems. We do not sell personal data, show ads or use advertising trackers.

Who processes it for us

These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and data-protection terms. Your data may therefore be stored and processed outside your country.

Cookies and storage

We use only the browser storage needed to keep you signed in and remember your settings. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and learning data while your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile and learning records are removed. We keep a minimal record that the deletion happened, and Polar keeps transaction records for as long as tax and accounting law requires.

Your choices and rights

You can export your data, change your preferences or delete your account at any time from the Account page. You can also ask us to access, correct or delete personal data, or object to how we use it, by emailing support@myjapanesely.com. Depending on where you live, you may also be able to complain to a data protection authority.

Age

Japanesely is for adults aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger.

Changes

We will post any update here with its date and tell account holders about material changes.
